Events & Workshop Topics
We are teaching young people leadership qualities and public speaking skills. Each member will be able to connect with our guest speakers, we will provide them with opportunities to show their leadership through internships. Each member will have a role at the workshops, and there will be leadership positions open for the project as a whole. We will have leadership committees and board members that will be available to apply for in order for students to show their leadership capabilities and public speaking skills. There are many opportunities for you to join our officer and board of directors because we believe young people can change our community.

Why you should join
The Youth Executive Leadership Program (YELP) is a non profit organization whose program centers around the Houston area, where students learn about leadership skills which include public speaking, various aspects of leading a team or an organization, etc.. Workshops (as part of the organization and partnership organizations) will be available throughout the year and this includes inviting business panels, public speaking workshops, and leadership camps, empowering the young generation to become strong visionaries, speakers and leaders at the end.
This program is available to kids between the ages of 11-18. Houston is such a large dynamic city, however, there aren't many programs focused on building leadership and public speaking skills in this age group and we want to change that! The objective of the organization is to empower the next generation of young leaders with all the necessary skills to enter the real world.

Coding Workshop #3
In this week's lesson, we focused on loops and methods in Python. We practiced using for and while loops to repeat tasks, and learned how to modify lists using methods like insert() and pop(). We also reviewed conditional statements (like if, else, ==, !=) to help us make decisions in code.
